EPA releases SmartWay Clean Diesel Finance Program Request For Proposals for $3.4 million. The SmartWay Clean Diesel Finance Program Request for Proposals is open until June 9, 2008. The total amount of available funding is $3.4 million. The Agency is accepting proposals from eligible entities for innovative financing assistance agreement projects.

February 7, 2008: Funding Is Now Available for Clean Diesel Projects

For fiscal year 2008, Congress appropriated funds for the first time for the Diesel Emission Reduction Program under the Energy Policy Act (2005) to help reduce harmful emissions from heavy duty diesel engines. Through the National Clean Diesel Campaign, the Environmental Protection Agency will award grants to assist its eligible partners in building diesel emission reduction programs across the country that improve air quality and protect public health. For fiscal year 2008, $49.2 million is available.
