Board of Scientific Counselors, NCEH/ATSDR (Established April 2004)
The Office of Science is responsible for coordinating and managing the activities of the NCEH/ATSDR Board of Scientific Counselors (BSC).
The BSC, an advisory committee chartered under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, provides advice and guidance to the Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services; the Director, CDC; and the Director, NCEH/ATSDR.
Subjects of the BSC’s deliberations include program goals, objectives, strategies, and priorities, and providing external peer review of NCEH/ATSDR programs. The BSC’s advice and guidance assists NCEH/ATSDR in ensuring scientific quality, timeliness, utility, and dissemination of results.
