This Program supports US foreign policy objectives by providing a secure work environment through the protection of American lives, property and information overseas and domestically from attacks by foreign terrorist and other harmful entities.

This is the highest rating a program can achieve. Programs rated Effective set ambitious goals, achieve results, are well-managed and improve efficiency.
  • State Department is working to ensure that budget information is transparent and provided to decision-makers in a timely way. State Department has hired new staff to focus primarily on budget and performance management.
  • This program provides technical and physical security to United States Government and staff which is vital to national security. Because State Department deems each project of equal importance it is difficult to prioritize security activities. It also makes working within budget constraints difficult.
