Rating

What This Rating Means

PERFORMING
Adequate

This rating describes a program that needs to set more ambitious goals, achieve better results, improve accountability or strengthen its management practices.
  • The program's social services focus addresses a specific group and need. Approximately 63% of refugees and entrants who arrive annually speak no English and require intensive English language and job training.
  • The program is weak in strategic planning. For example, it fails to align its budget with the goals it wants to achieve and has lacked long-term measures. The program has recently set and made progress in achieving long-term goals related to entered employment and job retention.
  • The program has lacked regular independent evaluations. Funds were recently provided for a program evaluation and it is being completed.

Improvement Plan

About Improvement Plans

We are taking the following actions to improve the performance of the program:

  • Improving strategic planning to ensure that systems are in place to identify deficiencies.
  • Collaborating with partners to set measurable goals that are linked to the budget.
  • Conducting an independent and quality evaluation analyzing employment and self-sufficiency outcomes in three program sites.
