The Foreign Labor Trends Reports provide summaries of institutions, practices, and recent labor developments in key foreign countries. They profile labor market reforms, compliance with internationally recognized core labor standards, social safety nets; major labor laws and systems (including in special economic zones), and list a directory of the host country's labor contacts. The reports describe the agencies within the Ministries of Labor or equivalent institutions, major trade union federations and confederations, employers' organizations, the state of industrial relations, and the role of governments in the communication and interactions of tripartite actors. The reports include workers' rights dealing with freedom of association, collective bargaining, forced labor, right to strike, child labor, discrimination in employment, occupational safety and health, working conditions, wages and hours, trafficking in persons, and rights of migrant/expatriate workers, among others. The FLT Reports are used by U.S. government officials, officials of other countries, international organizations, and the private sector.
