Dimension Data Learning Solutions (DDLS) is a part of Dimension Data Australia, and currently trains 90 of the top 100 ASX-listed companies. In the last financial year DDLS sold over 16,000 seats on training courses. Employing 110 staff enables DDLS to effectively meet client demand for training and service clients across all market segments. Additionally, DDLS has six fully-equipped training facility centres in the major metropolitan cities of Australia, with a total of 47 training rooms. DDLS operates a “Balanced Approach” to IT training, advocating premium business IT training that incorporates the areas of Technology, Process and People skills. These three complimentary streams of skills-development ensure that DDLS is able to offer clients a holistic learning solution.

Technology Skills: Instructor-led technology training is DDLS’ core business and the primary way that DDLS goes about bringing relevant technology skills to corporate and government Australia. IT careers are inherently about life-long learning, a fact that is driven by the ever changing technology landscape.

Process Skills: DDLS has seen great growth in the Process skills training space in recent years. IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®), Project Management, Business Analysis and PRINCE2™ training have all grown dramatically. The trend of successful IT Departments is towards developing and implementing streamlined processes and leveraging best-practice methodologies such as ITIL, Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®), Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK®) and PRINCE2.

People Skills: Crucial to efficient IT staff are people or business (soft) skills. DDLS has focused on core Business skills in the areas of Time Management, Customer Service and Communications, Leadership and Presentations. While Technology Skills are no-doubt important to IT workers, Business Skills encourage efficiency and productivity, which go a long way to achieving ones’ KPIs.
