Interactive Data Previewer and Rendering Engine

Building on the experiences from the voluntary program interactive data viewers (see below), the SEC has developed an updated Rendering Engine that enables investors to view the interactive data filings submitted under the SEC's rules that require the use of XBRL via the SEC website.

The Previewer provides the capability to test how an interactive data submission will appear on the SEC's website when submitted via EDGAR; the Previewer is only a test mechanism and does not constitute an official filing. Once a company completes its interactive data submission via EDGAR, the results of the rendering engine will be presented with the official filing on the SEC website.

Voluntary Filing Program Interactive Data Viewers

The SEC's XBRL Voluntary Filing Program was created to encourage public companies and mutual funds to use interactive data to make it easier for investors to get and use information from SEC filings. These web-based applications supporting the Voluntary Filing Program demonstrate how investors can find, view, download and even analyze financial and other information more quickly when the information is submitted as interactive data rather than as just text:

These voluntary program applications are on servers not controlled by the SEC. The SEC does not endorse these sites, their sponsors, or any policy, activity, product, data, or service they offer. These sites may be removed from the Internet with little or no warning. The purpose of the data reported in the voluntary program is to test XBRL technology. The data is largely unaudited and unreviewed. It is not an official SEC filing. Use these applications at your own risk. Do not rely on the reported data from the voluntary program, or documents rendered from the data, to make investment decisions.
