Abstract:
This digital layer provides a geographic representation of the MOCAs as described in the Final NSO Recovery Plan (May 2008).
Purpose:
The MOCAs represent areas that the US Fish and Wildlife Service has identified to support conservation of the species in the wet provinces within its range in the conterminous United States. They are designed to support clusters of reproducing spotted owls.

Several modifications were made to the MOCAs in Oregon based upon the BLM's proposed Western Oregon Plan Revision (WOPR).
