The topography and vegetation of Nevada contain high mountains and vast valleys across the state. The basin and range vegetation ranges from annual and perennial grasses to sagebrush ecosystems to pinion juniper woodlands. In Southern Nevada the topography changes to the Mohave Desert ecosystem where a distinct vegetation change occurs to black brush, yucca and Joshua trees.
