Tips for a Successful Diesel Retrofit Project
For those new to the clean diesel application process, we recommend viewing the comprehensive web conference presentation (webinar) given by EPA representatives and previous recipients hosted by Diesel Technology Forum, “Funding for Clean Diesel Activities from the 2009 Recovery and Reinvestment Act and Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA): How to Improve the Competitiveness of Your Application” .
Based on over ten years of experience, the National Clean Diesel Campaign has compiled Tips for a Successful Diesel Retrofit Project to help you get started and avoid common mistakes.
Diesel Emissions Quantifier
The Diesel Emissions Quantifier (Quantifier) is an interactive tool to help state/local governments, fleet owners/operators, school districts, municipalities, contractors, port authorities, and others to estimate emission reductions and cost effectiveness for clean diesel projects.

National Clean Diesel Funded Projects
Since 2000, EPA has awarded over 300 grants for diesel emission reduction projects nationwide through the National Clean Diesel Campaign. These projects are the result of grants awarded under two different funding authorities: the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct 2005) and the Clean Air Act. Please note that these listed projects were authorized under different legislation than the Recovery Act funding that is currently available.
Clean Diesel Collaboratives
Regional Clean Diesel Collaboratives are public-private partnerships working to improve air quality by reducing diesel emissions through projects that use innovations in diesel engines, retrofits, alternative fuels, and renewable energy technologies. Working together allows members to leverage funding, share technology and professional expertise. For more information, visit the collaborative web site in your area.

- West Coast Collaborative (EPA Regions 9, 10, with Canada and Mexico)
State and Local Toolkit
The National Clean Diesel Campaign has compiled the State and Local Toolkit to assist governments in designing, funding, and evaluating programs that reduce diesel emissions.
Trucker Information
The National Clean Diesel Campaign has compiled trucker information with loan, grant, and other financial assistance information available for fuel savings and emissions reduction technologies.
