ELIZABETH AMOROSI APPOINTED
ACTING U.S. TRUSTEE FOR ARIZONA

 

WASHINGTON, D.C.-Elizabeth Amorosi has been appointed Acting United States Trustee for Arizona (Region 14) for an interim period effective on June 16, 2002, it was announced today by Lawrence Friedman, Director of the Executive Office for United States Trustees. Amorosi replaces Brenda Moody Whinery, who resigned effective June 15, 2002.

Amorosi has been the Assistant U.S. Trustee for Region 14, headquartered in Phoenix, since September 2000. She joined the Phoenix office as an attorney in 1997. Prior to that time Amorosi was in private practice in Phoenix, primarily in the area of bankruptcy law, representing Chapter 11 debtors, secured creditors, and Chapter 7 trustees.

Amorosi received her law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School in Notre Dame, Ind., in 1986, and her Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Conn., in 1983.

The U.S. Trustee Program is a component of the Justice Department that protects the integrity of the bankruptcy system by overseeing case administration and litigating to enforce the bankruptcy laws.
