   Cold
warm clothing Teens may be exposed to cold temperatures while carrying groceries to cars or if working outdoors.

Some tips to avoid cold illnesses include:
  • Dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
    • Wear warm, layered clothing in cold weather, including hat and gloves. In cold weather, pay special attention to protecting feet, hands, face, and head. Up to 40 % of body heat can be lost when the head is exposed.
  • Take frequent, short breaks indoors to warm up.
  • Learn to recognize and seek medical help for yourself or co-workers that have symptoms of cold related stresses.
