Secretary Duncan and Madame Liu, who oversees China's mid- to long-term strategic planning for the education, science and technology, culture, sports, and social development sectors, discuss the value of Confucius Institutes in the U.S.
Secretary Arne Duncan and Chinese Education Minister Zhou Ji sign two documents of cooperation in education between the Chinese Ministry of Education and the U.S. Department of Education. Secretary Arne Duncan signs the 2009 U.S.-China Work Plan on Education Activities, the first joint work plan of its kind developed with any country.
