Pointed Broom Sedge
Pointed Broom Sedge (Carex scoparia.)

Description: Perennial, 0.5-3 ' tall. Stems erect, triangular in cross-section, rough. Leaves are slender, light green about1/8 " inch wide and usually much shorter than the stem. Flowers are straw colored or pale brown and occur on ends of stems.

Habitat: Found on open swamps, wet meadows and on shorelines throughout much of the United States.

Flowers blooms from July - October.
