Alliance representatives at the Winter Alliance Program Orientation session
Alliance representatives at the
Winter Alliance Program Orientation session
The purpose of the Alliance orientation session is to inform Program participants about the Agency's compliance assistance activities and cooperative programs. Paula White, Director of Cooperative and State Programs, leads a lively discussion of the Consultation Program and its Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program, Strategic Partnerships, Voluntary Protection Programs, OSHA's compliance assistance, and, of course, the Alliance Program. An added benefit of the session is the chance to meet other participants in the program and make connections across Alliances.

Winter - Alliance Orientation.

March 18, 2004. Representatives from four Alliances participated in the Alliance Program Quarterly Orientation session.
Paula White, Director, Directorate of Cooperative and State Programs, USDOL-OSHA, presented Compliance Assistance and Cooperative Programs: Expanding OSHA’s Impact for the attendees. She described OSHA's compliance assistance efforts and cooperative programs. Ms. White also discussed OSHA’s 2003 - 2008 Strategic Management Plan, which sets goals and strategies that build on the Agency’s successes and enhance its work for the future. OSHA’s cooperative programs, including the Alliance Program, are integral to the Agency’s ability to meet the goals of the plan. In addition, she reviewed OSHA’s compliance assistance tools, MyOSHA and Quick Start, and the Alliance Web site. She encouraged the Alliance participants to visit the sites for valuable information.

OSHA’s Deputy Assistant Secretary, Gary Visscher, USDOL-OSHA, joined the group and expressed his support for the Alliance Program. Mr. Visscher asked new Alliance participants to share the goals of their Alliance and participants to share their experiences and the successes that have resulted from working to meet the goals of their Alliance agreements.
