Background

Chadmoore Wireless Group, Inc. ("Chadmoore") and Nextel Communications, Inc. ("Nextel") have filed the following applications under Section 310(d) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, seeking Commission approval to assign 1,062 licenses in the 800 MHz Specialized Mobile Radio ("SMR") and the 900 MHz SMR service held by Chadmoore to Nextel (the "Applications"). The service rules applicable to these licenses are found in Part 90 of the Commission's rules.

The Applications have been found, upon initial review, to be acceptable for filing. The Commission reserves the right to retum any Application if, upon further examination, it is determined to be defective and not in conformance with the Commission's rules or policies.

Interested parties may file comments or petitions to deny no later than September 17, 2001. Oppositions may be filed no later than September 27, 2001. Replies may be filed no later than October 4, 2001.
