CRS COSPONSORS CULTURAL DIVERSITY TRAINING ON INTERFACING, COMMUNICATING, AND COLLABORATING WITH ARAB AMERICANS, MUSLIMS, AND SIKHS

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Community Relations Service (CRS) will cosponsor training program, "Interfacing, Communicating, and Collaborating with Arab Americans, Muslims, and Sikhs," for government officials and educators. The Office for Civil Rights of the U.S. Department of Education and CRS will cosponsor on November 15, 2001, at the Main Justice Building in Washington, D.C.
This is the second cross-cultural training session for high level officials to improve governmental outreach, response, and interaction with Arab American, Muslim, and Sikh communities after the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks. The widespread national awareness of these communities and the importance of cooperative relationships and understanding makes such training especially important and timely.
The trainers are from Connecting Cultures, a Silver Spring, Maryland, organization dedicated to building cultural competency with Islam, Muslims, and Arab culture. For more information on Connecting Cultures, please see its web site at: www.connecting-cultures.org
