Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents

The Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents is the official publication of presidential statements, messages, remarks and other materials. This publication is printed every Monday and contains documents such as Executive Orders (see Executive Orders law tip), Proclamations, Bill Signings, Interviews With the News Media and Meetings With Foreign Leaders.

GPO Access contains Compilations from 1993 (v. 29) - present that are searchable from 1993 forward and browseable from 2001 forward. Westlaw (WCPD) contains the Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents beginning with January 1995. The Wirtz Labor Law Library also receives the print version of the Compilations going back to 1966.

Some of these presidential documents such as Executive Orders and Proclamations are required to be published in the Federal Register. Therefore, documents of this nature can also be found in the Federal Register and in "Title 3 -- The President" of the Code of Federal Regulations. The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) on GPO Access contains Title 3 from 1997 - present and the Wirtz Labor Library has Title 3 back to 1936.

Another source of the Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents is Hein Online's Federal Register Library, which provides access to documents in PDF format. The Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents covers 1965 (vol. 1) - 2005 (vol. 41). A past tip, Hein Online, provides information about additional resources offered by the vendor. DOL employees can also contact the Law Library for access to Hein Online.
