U.S. Department of Justice Legal Documents

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) provides access to various legal documents and resources on its website, arranged alphabetically by division. Highlights include:

    • Antitrust Division: Selected Appellate Briefs from 1993 - 2005 are available in HTML, PDF, and WordPerfect formats. In addition, links to case filings, business review letters, guidelines and policy statements, and international documents are provided.

    • Civil Rights Division: Features access to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Core Letters (from 1992 – 1999), Letters of Finding (from 1992 to 1997), regulations and technical assistance materials, settlements and consent agreements, new or proposed regulations, and selected court filings and judgments.
    • Executive Office for Immigration Review: Documents available include Board of Immigration Appeals Adjudicating Requests for Stays, Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer EFOIA Decision Index, and Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer Filing Unfair Immigration-Related Employment Practice Complaints. This last item offers guidance in filing a complaint alleging an unfair immigration-related employment practice.
    • Office of the Solicitor General: Links to legal briefs from 1982 to present searchable by keyword, type, or subject (by date). Coverage is as follows: July 1998 to present includes all filings by the Solicitor General with the Supreme Court except IFP responses; 1986 to 1990 and 1993 to 1996 include merits briefs and responses; and 1982 to 1985 include merits briefs.
