U.S. Congressional Serial Set

The Serial Set contains the House and Senate Documents and the House and Senate Reports bound by session of Congress. The print version of this publication began in 1817 with the 15th Congress, 1st Session. There are two electronic databases available through GPO Access -- Congressional Documents and Congressional Reports covering the 104th Congress (1995-96) to present.

Congressional Documents contains House, Senate, Senate Executive and Senate Treaty documents that originate from congressional committees covering a wide variety of topics. Other documents that have been included are reports from executive departments, independent organizations, non-governmental organization annual reports and special investigative reports made for Congress.

Congressional Reports contains House, Senate and Senate Executive Reports. These reports deal with proposed legislation and issues under investigation from congressional committees.

Both databases provide the documents in ASCII text or pdf files. The documents of the current Congress are added as electronic versions become available, therefore, the database is updated irregularly.
