Permits

There are many activities relating to birds that people are involved with, where they are required to have a migratory bird permit.  For instance, if a taxidermist wants to mount a migratory bird like a duck, he/she needs a migratory bird permit to do this.  To use feathers, eggs and nests for education, a person needs a permit to possess these items, since it is illegal to keep them.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is responsible for issuing these permits and has a website to obtain applications and related information.  This website may be visited by clicking on Bird Permits.  Click on these links for information on Eagle Permits and The National Eagle Repository.
