The NMR facility is located at the NIEHS Main Campus, 509 rolling acres of rhododendron, oak and pine in Research Triangle Park (RTP). RTP, a science and technology hub, was created by the state of North Carolina between Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. The main NIEHS administrative offices and laboratories are on a large lake.
The NMR facility (right) has the following spectrometers: Varian INOVA 800 MHz Spectrometer with 4 channels and a cryogenically cooled probe, 2 Varian INOVA 600 MHz Spectrometers with three channels (one with a cryogenically cooled probe), INOVA 500 MHz Spectrometer with four channels and a cryogenically cooled probe, Varian Unity 500 MHz Spectrometer with two channels, Varian Unity+ 400 MHz Wide Bore Spectrometer, and a Varian Gemini 2000 300MHz Spectrometer.
