Specialty Drilling Fluids Limited (SDF) is a subsidiary of the Charnel Group of Companies. It was incorporated in Nigeria on December 2, 1991. SDF primarily provides Waste Management Services (CR-I), Mud Engineering Services, and the supply of Drilling and Completion Chemicals for the oil and gas industries.

The mission of SDF is to be the foremost indigenous company in Oilfield Drilling Waste Management. Through the engagement of highly motivated and efficient manpower, foreign technical consultants, and the latest technology in Cuttings Reinjection (CR-I), the company has become a highly reputable competitor in the oil industry in Nigeria.

Specialty Drilling Fluids Limited has its Head Office and Operational Base in Port Harcourt. It also has the biggest warehouse in the Trans Amadi Industrial Layout and one of the best equipped laboratories, twenty (20) 500bbls Mud Storage tanks, six complete Slurrification/Cuttings Reinjection Units and a self propelled, self elevating General Purpose Lift Barge, among others.

SDF is committed to conducting its operation in a legal, ethical and responsive manner. The company has developed policies of commitment to both employees, clients or other persons who may be affected and upon the environment in which these operations are conducted. Such policies include Environmental Protection Policy, Corporate Health Policy, Corporate Policy on Safety, Policy on Community Affairs and Relations and Security Policy.

The company has as its clients reputable oil producing and servicing companies such as SPDC (Shell), ELF, NAOC, Halliburton, Chevron, etc. The company’s current turn over stands at over N600m.
