Superfund Basic Research Program staff and Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) staff meet regularly to discuss areas of joint interest and identify areas of partnership. A critical part of the discussion is how to communicate and integrate SBRP research into the ATSDR activities to leverage the agencies' combined impact on improving public health.
Face-to-face meetings between SBRP and ATSDR have proven to be a useful communication strategy. Most recent discussions have focused on joint participation in ATSDR or SBRP sponsored conferences, outreach to ATSDR Regional staff, tools for communicating research advances, and coordinating research portfolios.
