INTRODUCTION

Reed Exhibitions will host its second Asian Aerospace event in Hong Kong in September, 2009, as the aviation industry changes its focus to China. Asian Aerospace is ranked among the world’s top three aviation events, after Farnborough and Paris.  In 2007, the first Asian Aerospace event in Hong Kong hosted more than 100 U.S. companies.  Key prospects include:

  • Air frame
  • Avionics
  • Aircraft interiors
  • Airport technologies
  • Air traffic control equipment
  • Business jets
  • MRO and engineering

Asian Aerospace 2009 is a strictly B2B cost-effective four-day event. In addition to the multi-faceted exhibition, the AA congress (aviation conference) will bring together top buyers, suppliers and government leaders to boost networking and relationship development.

 PARTICIPATION OPTIONS

Aerospace Product Literature Centre (APLC)
The U.S. Commerce Department is sponsoring an Aerospace Product Literature Centre (APLC) at Asian Aerospace 2009 in the U.S. Commerce Department booth space.  An APLC provides U.S. companies with its lowest cost option for participating in an international aerospace trade show at US$750.  Companies send their product literature to the show where U.S. Department of Commerce aerospace experts obtain ‘trade leads’ for the individual APLC companies.  These leads are then sent to the companies 2-3 weeks following the show.  As a participant in the APLC, company officials are welcome to attend the show and ‘walk-the-floor’ as well as participate in activities and support services at Asian Aerospace 2009.  For more information, contact Deborah Semb at Tel: 202/482-0677, email: Deborah.Semb@N0SPAM.mail.doc.gov

Kiosk / Starter Packs
Reed Exhibitions is offering a limited number of low-cost kiosks or ‘starter packs’ for first time U.S. exhibitors.  This starter pack is great value for money and it is slightly smaller than a standard booth size.  Measuring 3m x 2m = 6 square meters, this gives a potential company a cost effective and hassle free way of participating in the exhibition and to access the tremendous potential of the market in Asia.  The rate is HK$22,205 (approx. US$2,865).  For more information, contact Mary Ellen Guerrlich or Kurt Rauner at Reed Exhibitions.

Standard Exhibition
Working in coordination with the U.S. Commercial Service and the American Embassies/Consulates around the world, the U.S. Pavilion will once again be the focus of many visiting delegations and civil and commercial aviation decision makers.  Booth space is available in the official U.S. Pavilion at this event.  Measuring at 3m x 3m = 9 square meters, the rate is HK$45,585 (approx. US$5,881).  For more information, contact Mary Ellen Guerrlich or Kurt Rauner at Reed Exhibitions.

U.S. COMMERCIAL SERVICE BUSINESS SUPPORT FOR U.S. EXHIBITORS

The U.S. Commercial Service will offer a range of free programs to American exhibitors, aimed at promoting U.S. product and services to Asia.

ShowTime Business Advisory Service
Industry specialists from U.S. Department of Commerce posts from China and across Asia will be available to meet with you in your booth for a one-on-one appointment between September 8-10 to answer your questions and provide both general and market-specific business advice.  If you are already exporting, we are also available to work with you to find new partners or to increase your market share.  This service is offered at no charge.  Each market briefing is approximately 20-30 minutes.  A link to a registration form will be posted here closer to the event date.

U.S. Pavilion Networking Reception
This is the premier networking event of the Asian Aerospace for U.S. exhibitors, visiting buyer delegations and key business contacts.  Date and function details to be determined.

Business Matching Service (Gold Key Services, GKS)
U.S. Commercial Service Hong Kong will contact potential agents, end users, partners, etc. to determine their interest in your product/service and make appointments for you to meet with them.  The Gold Key Service gives you face-to-face contact with pre-qualified companies, ensuring that your trip to Hong Kong is as productive as possible.

Cost for a Gold Key program:

  • SME Company*: US$700 for the first day and US$300 for each subsequent day.
  • SME New-to-Export Companies using Service for first time: US$350 for the first day and US$300 for each subsequent day.
  • Large Company*: US$2,300 for the first day and US$1,000 for each subsequent day.

*A Small or Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) is defined as a firm with 500 or fewer employees or self-certified as a small business under SBA regulations.  A large company is defined as a firm with more than 500 employees.  Subsidiaries will be classified based on the size of the parent company.

Meetings will be held on September 8-10 at your own booth or in the U.S. Department of Commerce booth’s meeting area.
