Internet Release date: 12–22–06 Population, Population change and estimated components of population change: April 1, 2000 to July 1, 2006 available at http://www.census.gov/popest/datasets.html.

b. Reported in CDC Water Fluoridation Reporting System.

c. Fluoridated population divided by total population.

d. Fluoridated population divided by population served by community water systems.

e. Changes over time are due in part to improvements in the quality and accuracy of WFRS data.

f . Population served by CWS exceeded the U.S. Census intercensal state population estimate; number of persons was reduced by the ratio of the intercensal population estimate to the CWS population estimate.

g. Changes over time are due in part to improvements in WFRS data for CWS with naturally occurring fluoride concentrations.

h. Complete data were not available from WFRS; State provided additional information.
