Part of the Art Miles Mural Project, the Environmental Mural Mile is one of twelve mural miles being created for the UNESCO Decade of the Culture of Peace. Over 100 countries have participated in this project that depicts every imaginable environmental topic possible. Environmental murals have been completed in remote villages in Nepal and from cities as large as New York and Chicago. Many of the murals have been used to focus on specific environmental concerns and have been very effective in attracting media and arousing public attention.
The following local schools and arts organizations in cities hosting EPA’s National Community Involvement Training Conference have presented environmental murals. See selected photos below.

- 2005—West Seneca East Middle School, Buffalo, NY
- 2006—Lloyd Street Global Education Center, Milwaukee, WI
