Your Drinking Water and EPA's ETV Program

EPA's Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program develops testing protocols and verifies the performance of innovative technologies that have the potential to improve the protection of human health and the environment. The program was created to accelerate the entrance of new environmental technologies into the domestic and international marketplaces.

ETV has verified the following monitoring and treatment technologies for drinking water distribution systems:

Multi‑Parameter Water Monitors for Distribution Systems ― Provides results for verification testing of water quality monitors for drinking water distribution systems.

Reverse Osmosis‑Based Point-of-Use Devices for Microbiological Agents ― Provides results for verification testing of drinking water treatment systems for removal of bacteria and viruses.

Reverse Osmosis‑Based Point‑of‑Use Devices for Chemical Agents ― Provides results for verification testing of drinking water treatment systems for removal of chemical agents, such as aldicarb, benzene, cadmium, carbofuran, cesium, chloroform, dichlorvos, dicrotophos, fenamiphos, mercury, mevinphos, oxamyl, strontium, and strychnine. The technologies use a reverse osmosis membrane and filters to treat drinking water.
