Working for the US Commercial Service was an insightful outlook on the successful way to conduct International business.  The hands-on approach, was essential in gaining experience on providing accurate information to local businesses seeking to export.  Under Mr. Tastard’s direction, I was in daily communication with local companies by providing market research and introducing them to US Commercial Service colleagues worldwide.  The companies I had the privilege of interacting with ranged from consulting services to road safety equipment installation.  At the end of each day, I felt a great satisfaction of knowing that my assistance helped a local business with product placement in a foreign country.  I also had the opportunity to attend a Northern California World Trade Center event where I networked with businesses from Brazil and Australia and was able to assists Allocca Enterprise, Inc. (a national Import/Export Training corporation) in an Export Compliance Training workshop.

Mr. Tastard has been a great mentor and has given me the incentive to pursue a career in international business. I highly recommend this internship to students who are seeking work experience in International Business.
