Interning at the Sacramento U.S. Export Assistance Center (USEAC) was a breathtaking experience – it was truly the most productive 6 months I have spent as an undergrad at UC Davis. Drafting business letters, writing highlights, conducting market research, data collecting, and attending client consultations were among the few core responsibilities as an intern. Yet, the most rewarding experience of all was the great mentorship provided while interning at the U.S. Commercial Service. From basic office procedures to complicated business etiquette, I was given professional advice every step of the way.

In addition to gaining a mentor, I developed friendship with other fellow interns. We were able to support one another and work as a team to tackle difficult projects. Interning in a sociable environment was not only productive, but an enjoyable experience as well.

The valuable skills I gained in the past 6 months will be applied for the next 40+ years of my career. I firmly believe working for the Sacramento USEAC is an opportunity of a lifetime for anyone looking into the international trade career.
