Rio Grande Leopard Frog, Rana berlandieri
The Rio Grande Leopard Frog is a medium size frog reaching lengths in excess of 4 inches. They look similar to the Plains Leopard Frog and the Southern Leopard Frog, but are usually duller regarding their background color and spots. The Rio Grande Leopard Frog can be identified by it's medially inset dorsolateral ridges similar to the Plains Leopard Frog. The Rio Grande Leopard Frog can be found in the southwestern Texas and near the Texas border in southeastern New Mexico. | |
