FOCUSING ON: U.S. Export Controls on Non-U.S. Transactions

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Sep 25 - 26)

“Focusing on the ITAR” training, designed and presented by Rose Biancaniello LLC and Michael T Dixon LLC, in cooperation with OCR Services, Inc. provides extensive and in-depth information intended to inform, enhance and update the knowledge of individuals engaging in, or entering into, defense export activities.

Both the novice and the veteran can benefit from this training, because “Focusing on the ITAR” ensures that knowledge is the spotlight and that individuals acquire a well rounded education of the essential elements of defense export controls. The presentations by former Department of State, Defense Trade Controls senior managers with unparalleled USG working experience, insights and expertise offer extensive information and study of ITAR licensing and compliance matters.

Each day addresses both the routine and the more complex regulatory requirements by analyzing key issues associated with ITAR controlled exports; e.g., defining your product (commodity jurisdiction), elements of a sound a license application, eligibility to participate in defense trade, agreements, use of exemptions, and voluntary disclosures, as well as civil enforcement actions.

Learn from the experts how to implement successful export plans that complement best commercial business practices. Meet your ITAR training requirements. Benefit from interaction with individuals from all areas of the defense export community.

Who Should Attend?

The “Focusing on the ITAR” seminar is designed to benefit any defense company that wishes to ensure full compliance with U.S. Government requirements by offering training to all employees who are in areas associated with defense export matters. The seminar addresses a wide variety of issues and provides information critical for a diverse group of defense industry professionals. “Focusing on the ITAR” seminars in 2007 were extremely well received by audiences of diverse backgrounds to include ITAR empowered officials, contracts and legal personnel, freight forwarders, licensing and compliance staff, and USG personnel.

The training offers information essential to establishing a foundation for those who are new to defense trade as well as information necessary for more experienced individuals who wish to ensure regulatory compliance by refreshing and enhancing their knowledge necessary to implement, update, and re-evaluate current company practices. Persons directly involved in defense trade - to include Export Licensing, Compliance and Contracts Managers, and Legal, Marketing, Human Resources and Security staff involved in processing access to defense technology - should consider “Focusing on the ITAR” training a must. While the sessions are designed for the US exporter, a number of foreign persons attended “Focusing on the ITAR” 2007 sessions and report that they benefited from familiarization with US laws, regulations, policies and practices.

Documentation

Each participant will receive comprehensive written materials prepared by the speakers and an up-to-date copy of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the primary regulations governing defense trade. These invaluable reference materials can be used repeatedly by the individual long after the seminar is over.
