Mary McKiel is the EPA's Standards Executive, a position established at EPA (and similarly in each federal Agency and Department), in order to assist the Agency in meeting obligations to use voluntary consensus standards in regulatory and procurement activities. As part of her role, Mary represents EPA in the US national standards body (the American National Standards Institute) which is the official member of international standards setting organizations. Mary will update us today on consensus standards work related to nanotechnology.
