Arlington Field Office Participates in Earth Day Celebration
Southwest Region, April 22, 2009
Print Friendly Version

On April 22, 2009, Omar Bocanegra of the Arlington Field Office celebrated Earth Day with faculty and students of Watauga Elementary School.  Students listened to a presentation on endangered species in the school’s “Outdoor Learning Environment,” which contains a garden, rainfall catchment system, and a small pond.  Over 600 students attended and observed endangered species artifacts and a live lesser siren and gray-banded kingsnake.  The presentation provided an assignment for the third graders, who brought “nature journals” to record information from the event.
