Chesapeake Bay Field Office Results Utilized by Canadian Environmental Agency
Northeast Region, April 22, 2009
Print Friendly Version

Developers of Canadian sediment quality guidelines for the federal government agency Environment Canada, requested information from the Chesapeake Bay Field Office publication, Effects of Sediment-Bound Zinc Contamination on Early Life Stages of the Mummichog (Fundulus heteroclitus L.) in the Christina Watershed, Delaware, USA. Specifically, researchers there are looking for data on total organic carbon (TOC) and grain size information, critical for assessing the toxicity in this project.

Environment Canada's mandate is to preserve and enhance the quality of the natural environment; conserve Canada's renewable resources; conserve and protect Canada's water resources; forecast weather and environmental change; enforce rules relating to boundary waters; and coordinate environmental policies and programs for their federal government.
