Frank Stone has been gathering information to update two Service Internet web sites.

At the request of the Fish & Wildlife Service Native American Liaison’s (NAL), Frank had begun adding new information and images to the NAL web site.  The site will contain both national and tribal specific resource and policy issues describing the many cooperative programs and resource accomplishments being made throughout the nation.  The NAL web site can be viewed at http://www.fws.gov/nativeamerican/.

Along with significant help of several others, Frank has also attempting to put the finishing touches to the Salmonine Passive Integrated Transponder (SPIT) web site.  The intent of SPIT is to provide an on-line searchable database containing tag numbers (PIT tagged salmonines in L. Superior), points of contact, and assessment information to facilitate tracking of tagged fish and information sharing among fishery resource agencies.  An outside contractor has finished construction of the searchable database and now the site is ready to be populated with PIT tag data from the Service and our Great Lakes cooperators.  The SPIT web site (still in draft form) can be viewed at http://www.fws.gov/midwest/LakeSuperiorSPIT/.
