KENAI: Wilderness Ranger Assists in50th Anniversary of Statehood
Alaska Region, January 21, 2009
Print Friendly Version
Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Wilderness Ranger and Historian Gary Titus helped celebrate Alaska's 50th anniversary of statehood by presenting a highly visual and detailed powerpoint program on the historical cabins of Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.  The program was held on January 13 at 7 PM at the Kenai River Center, near Soldotna, with over 75 people attending.  Gary's knowledge and passion about the history and preservation cabin work at Kenai Refuge sparked lively questions and historical information sharing from his audience.  This presentation is part of an educational winter speaker series that has been an ongoing partnership between the Kenai Watershed Forum, Kenai River Center, and Kenai National Wildlife Refuge for several years.  For more information on the historic cabins of Kenai Refuge please visit http://alaska.fws.gov/nwr/kenai/history.htm
