Little River NWR hosted a second 2008 controlled deer hunt from November 14-16.  The hunters selected to participate in the hunt are drawn through the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation's Controlled Hunt Program.  The refuge issued 30 permits for the hunt and 25 hunters participated.  The hunters are allowed to harvest one deer of either sex.  A deer harvested during the hunt is considered a bonus to the bag and does not count toward the statewide bag limit.  The hunters harvested seven bucks and six feral hogs during the hunt.
