CCESFO staff presented sighting and banding data at a piping plover workshop in Chicago, Illinois, from October 20 through 24, 2008, geared at the preparation of the 5-Year review.  The plover 5-year review has a court-ordered deadline of September 30, 2009, and will require coordination between 5 Service regions (Regions 5, 3, 6, 2, and 4).  Discussions centered on information needed to make determinations about status and trends of the species as well as the types and levels of threat that exists in all parts of the range and the effects of those threats on the species.
