Three new benches provide visitors a respite and an opportunity to remember loved ones at Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge.  The benches were acquired through funds donated to the Friends of Shiawassee NWR as an expression of sympathy for the passing of Harold Lorn “Red” Zeitler, Stephen Vlassis, and Jerry Van Zale.  These individuals were avid outdoor enthusiasts and greatly enjoyed the refuge.  These attractive benches are made of recycled plastic and will require virtually no maintenance.  They are placed along Woodland Trail and Ferguson Bayou Trail.
