On July 11, NMESFO and Region 2 – Division of Endangered Species staff met with ranchers, the Bureau of Land Management, NM Department of Game and Fish, The Nature Conservancy, Playa Lakes Joint Venture, and Natural Resources Conservation Service in Milnesand, NM to answer questions regarding the Endangered Species Act and Candidate Conservation Agreement (CCA) for the sand dune lizard and lesser prairie-chicken. Some ranchers and landowners expressed interest in signing Certificates of Inclusion when the CCA and CCAA are finalized in October.
