During the first two weeks of July personnel were busy suppressing the Phelan ATV (7/4/08) and Wing Gate (7/7/08) wildfires.  Both human caused fires were started by equipment operation.  Before the fires were declared out, assistance from the NM and TX mid-Coast Fire Management Districts, BIA, and an interagency crew from the AOICC had been provided.  Up to 37 personnel were involved in suppression operations.  Wildland Fire Situation Analysis used Appropriate Management Response analysis to decide on an aggressive, indirect suppression action to ensure firefighter safety and contain costs.  Both fires were declared out by July 18, 2008
