On July 8, 2008, the Arlington Texas Field Office held its 16th annual fishing event for local YMCA Summer Camp children at Brockdale Park near Allen, Texas.  Twenty-five volunteers from various federal and state agencies and outdoor advocate groups offered presentations to approximately 100 children on subjects ranging from boating/water safety, fish biology, conservation, aquatic ecology, and fishing techniques.  The Blackland Prairie Raptor Center also showed and discussed several live birds of prey.  As always, the fishing was the most exciting part of the day for the children and almost all were able to land several and have their picture taken.  A news crew from the local Fox Television affiliate was present and will be airing a segment on the event on Dallas’ KDFW channel 4 on July 20 at 9 PM.
