Innoko Clean Up Day

Staff from the Innoko National Wildlife Refuge assisted the City of McGrath and the McGrath Native Village Council in the 2008 Annual McGrath Cleanup Days. Community members worked together to pick up litter and other debris along the roads and trails of McGrath. The Refuge donated a pickup truck driven by Maintenance Worker Mike Bye and his son to haul material to the local landfill. Litter picked up included everything from pop and beer cans to 55 gallon drums and old washing machines.

Volunteers picked up over 7 pickup truck loads of various materials. This is the 5th year that the community has held this event and the Refuge has cooperated each year in this community wide event.
