Fifty West Central Area Land and Water Conservation Association members visited a Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program wetland restoration project on June 26, 2008.

Bill Peterson, a PFW Biologist at Necedah NWR, and Roger Niemi hosted the association members at Roger's farm in Clark Co., where the PFW Program restored a four-acre wetland in 2007.  Bill reviewed the project history, wetland restoration goals and the PFW program.

Roger provided a landowner perspective on restoring wildlife habitat with the PFW.  Half of the tour attendees are West Central Wisconsin Land and Water Conservation Department employees and half are active farmers.  Attendees left the Niemi property with a better understanding of how active farmers can incorporate wetland restoration projects into their land management plans.
