WET and WILD Education a Success
Midwest Region, May 20, 2008
Print Friendly Version

Project WET and Project WILD education training was held May 20, 2008 at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) offices in Onalaska, Wis.  The following day Angler Education was held at Pettibone Park in La Crosse, Wi..  The training was held by Jeff and Elizabeth Janvrin from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.  Representatives from the Service, United States Geological Services (USGS), City of La Crosse Park Department, City of Sparta Parks and Recreation, and Friends of the Upper Mississippi Fisheries Services (FUMFS) were attended the training.

Project WET, Project WILD, and Angler Education are programs designed to assist students with developing awareness and knowledge about wildlife and aquatic resources and to help children become interested in the outdoors.  The training from the Wisconsin DNR was designed to help service members, volunteers and educators with educational outreach materials and activities.  The programs are also designed to provide examples and know-how to share the activities and knowledge with school-age children. The programs provided valuable resource materials and were a lot of fun for the participants.
