Renewal of the San Xavier Talussnail Candidate Conservation Agreement
Southwest Region, June 3, 2008
Print Friendly Version
The San Xavier Talussnail is found only on a north facing slope of a hillside south of Tucson, Arizona.  In 1998, a Candidate Conservation Agreement was signed with El Paso Natural Gas Company, Southwestern Tansmission Cooperative (formerly known as Arizona Electrical Power Cooperative), Arizona Game and Fish Department, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  This Agreement guided management and protection of this site for 10 years.  It was set to expire in September 2008.  The partners of the original Agreement committed to extending the Agreement an additional 10 years and continuing the ongoing management and protection of this site.
