Alisa Shull accompanied a High School American Sign Language field trip tour (with about 80 students) to the Texas School for the Deaf.  Among other things, tour guides talked to the group about deaf culture and appropriate etiquette and sensitivity for the “hearing” to apply.  Alisa reports the helped trip increased awareness of deaf culture and an understanding of communication issues.
