Green Bay Field Office Promotes Increased Natural Resource Awareness for Children at the Northeast Wisconsin Teacher’s Convention
Midwest Region, March 14, 2008
Print Friendly Version
Cathy Carnes, of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Ecological Services Field Office in Green Bay, Wisconsin, set up and staffed an information booth at the Northeast Wisconsin Education Association's Teachers Convention in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on March 14, 2008.  Teachers have come to know and look for the Service's Green Bay field office booth as we have been part of the Teachers Convention for nine years.  Several hundred teachers and educators from northeast Wisconsin attended the conference and were provided educational information on endangered species, wetlands, and wildlife, including migratory birds.  They were also made aware of GBFO’s educational library of teaching aids including books, videos, and activity guides covering - endangered species, wetland, and wildlife - that are available to teachers for loan.  We anticipate that our posters and other resource information distributed at the conference will be incorporated into indoor and outdoor environmental programs, and thus help teach children the value of our natural resources.
