Texas Native Plant Conservation Alliance Meeting Held

The Texas Native Plant Conservation Alliance held its third meeting on March 27 at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin.  Twenty six individuals attended representing (in addition to the Service) Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Texas Department of Transportation, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, University of Texas, Texas A&M University at Kingsville, Lower Colorado River Authority, and the National Autonomous Univeristy of Nuevo León, Mexico.  Flo Oxley of the Wildflower Center led a working group in further development of organizational structure.  Chris Best of the Austin ES Office led another working group to develop outreach materials on RTE plants, and a template for landowner testimonials.  The next meeting will be held at Mercer Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, Houston, during the third week of June.
